CO2 emissions in a soil under different tillage practices

نویسندگان

چکیده

CO2 emissions represent one of the greenhouse gases significantly affecting climate change. Reduced tillage practices can contribute to mitigation from soils. The effect with different straw incorporation on was studied in field experiments years 2020 and 2021. winter wheat used 2020, spring barley Treatments were: (1) chiselling 10–12 cm; (2) shallow (5–6 cm depth); (3) mulch, (4) stubble. warm summer period increased soils even twice comparison other soil practices. temperature decreased following order: < ≤ stubble mulch 2020. Low without significant differences among treatments were observed year 2021 when low temperatures excessive water content filling pores caused by intensive precipitations (23 mm) coming shortly after observed. are affected a number factors. Among them current weather conditions as well depth handling postharvest residues, important.

Measurements of Soil Carbon Dioxide Emissions from Two Maize Agroecosystems at Harvest under Different Tillage Conditions

In this study a comparison of the soil CO2 fluxes emitted from two maize (Zea mays L.) fields with the same soil type was performed. Each field was treated with a different tillage technique: conventional tillage (30 cm depth ploughing) and no-tillage. Measurements were performed in the Po Valley (Italy) from September to October 2012, covering both pre- and postharvesting conditions, by means ...

Tillage and soil quality Tillage practices for sustainable agriculture and environmental quality in different agroecosystems

For centuries tillage has been used to prepare suitable seedbed to grow crops, and to control weeds and incorporate fertilizers, pesticides, manures and other amendments. In early years conversion of native ecosystems by tillage helped to unlock nutrients stored in soil organic matter, and thus `mine' naturally fertile soils to grow crops with minimum inputs for the growing population. However,...

Impacts of different tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yield under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions

Effects of six tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yields were evaluated for a clay soil (Typic Haploxererts) under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions in a three year study (2006-2009). The experiment was designed as a completely randomized-block with three replications. Treatments were: conventional tillage with residue incorporated (CT1), conventional tillage wi...

Soil Organic Carbon Pools as Early Indicators for Soil Organic Matter Stock Changes under Different Tillage Practices in Inland Pacific Northwest

Soil organic matter (SOM) is essential for sustaining soil health and crop productivity. However, changes in SOM stocks in response to agronomic practices are slow and show years later when it is too late for adjustments in management. Identifying early indicators of SOM dynamics will allow early management decisions and quick remedial action. The objectives of this study were to evaluate long-...
